I got these to replace my Tritton 510 headset that I blew the subs in being a bass junkie. Apparently they were discontinued in favor of these. So i grabbed a pair.

I'll start with the pros.

I like the swiveling ear cups, they rest comfortably around the neck when not wearing them

The mic piece is much better than the 510. it can contort to a greater range of angles.

The ear cups are softer than the 510.

It still has the signature Illuminated logo.

Its got a smaller sleek design.

cons.

The speaker placement in the ear cups is different, Its difficult to hear a sense of direction. the sense of surround sound is significantly less, almost to the point of virtual surround sound. Which I find to be a huge con because this is the biggest selling point

The headset is a tight fit. If you have a big head. you're going to have aching ears after an hour or so. I have to wear them loose to game with them for hours.

The audio quality is greater, but it gives a kind of acoustic like you're in a studio or something. You can hear a lot of detail, I mean a lot. but it just doesn't feel like its in a natural atmosphere. like playing battlefield in a gym. Though if you like music editing, I think this would be a bonus.

It also has the same feedback problem as the 510, though that really is a problem on my end. If your power supply's voltage is at a high enough frequency, you can actually hear a constant low tone in the headphones. This wont be the case for most. But I've been using the same 750 watt power supply for 8 years. (lifetime warranty, still hasn't kicked the bucket).

But its not a big deal, if you happen to also be running an ancient PSU you can get arround this annoyance by using a usb cellphone wall charge adapter and plugging the headset's usb power into that instead of you computer.

Overall for most I'd say take a pass. The main point in getting gaming heasets is surround sound. These don't really suffice for that. So they end up being just 3 star average.
