This year Pantone went with a much lighter (thinner) paper stock, and the base color of the paper is much bluer than previous years. When you lay the page over a Press Sheet (or anything else), you can see right through the paper, which makes matching more difficult than it was before. Another problem is the colors in the new book do not go numerically. They go by color group. What does this mean? It means you need to know which color the number is you're looking up, fan the book out, pick the section (ie: light green), and then hunt for the number. Frankly, it's stupid. We update our PMS books every 2 years. All of my Pressmen have put these aside, and are using the old books. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Pantone Plus Series COLOR BRIDGE Guide Coated" are high quality item.
