Purchased this item direct from Dell with dual U2412 monitors. The base is huge! Easily four times the size of the individual base that comes with each monitor. No space savings whatsoever. I think this must have been designed for the previous series 24" Ultrasharp monitors that had card readers and additional inputs. Those monitors were about twice the weight of the current models.

While the mount is easily assembled and goes together in seconds, the largest drawback is the position of the monitors relative to the base. I could live with the size of the base, but the common monitor arm is positioned over the middle. With the additional distance added by the individual arms, the monitors end up flush with the front of the base. This means that the monitors can't be positioned any less than 12" from the back of your desk. Double the 6" if you used the standard bases.
