This power supply is 80 plus platinum rated, that means very little energy is wasted in taking your a.c. power and converting it to d.c., which is useable by your computer. Under a normal load, it only feels slighty warm to the touch, so it should last a long time. Additionally, this is covered by a five year warranty.
