More a comment on Amazon's delivery failure. Product was delivered in a soft-bubble envelope, upon opening, the retail package was smashed, but the chip appeared to be intact due to the plastic protector. However, after opening , I noticed that the label on the chip said "i7-3820". I thought perhaps this was an alternate description, but turns out it's a $290 consumer chip!! The seals appeared intact, but I didn't inspect closely before opening. Box looked correct, it was obviously switched out at some point.

Amazon customer service was a pain to get replaced, took 3 phone calls before finally reaching a supervisor who could ship one out immediately. Not sure why it's surprising that I'd want a quick replacement if they ship me a CPU that's 1/10 the cost instead!?! Will make me think twice about ordering a high value product like this, who ships a $2k CPU in a small soft-bubble envelope!?!

Save yourself a bit of trouble and check the CPU printing, visible outside the box, before opening. I didn't think to look, never received a fraud product like this before. Amazon took it back regardless, but it's probably easier to return a factory sealed box with the wrong product.
