I bought this pc from another website due to its better tax options (newegg), plus the fact that the alternate site offers a keyboard and a mouse (Asus brand) that I will review in the next paragraph. Also act soon between 12/31/12 to get you the rebate at the top of this amazon page ($30.00 off).

Exterior - the black casing does not show fingerprints. The overall setup is very light. and it runs quiet when running. The fan kind of "breathes" as it cools off the parts. Very interesting cooling system when you open up the computer. Opening up the PC is a little tricky. Had to find a video on youtube to figure it out. Remove the 6 screws on the back then flip it to where the rubber feeties are in the air and disconnect the back pannel (the one with the feeties) just an 8th of an inch. then it just lifts off. Here you can access the RAM and CPU etc. You can get a ssd if you want, it may help with speed but dont really think i will need it for my setup. I did however purchase a 4 gb stick from crucial (item# CT51264BF1339). Still need to put that in (which by the way for those who care, with the 2gb stick in i have a windows rating of 5.2/7.9 in the memory catagory, overall the performance rating is a 3.9/7.9 (really its 3.9/6.9 because 1 is the lowest score. this rank is so low because of the processor. Its ATOM so what can you do. I havent noticed an issue and was actually suprised to see it so low)

Interior - when turning on PC, asus symbol shines and then takes you to the final steps of the windows setup (entering pc name and connecting to internet). I had to plug mini usb dongle in front 2.0 ports for initial set up of computer because 3.0 werent activated until after reboot. Then i switched to the 3.0 usb port. After about 5 minutes you are in windows. I think ASUS runs its own setup because it just looked different. I have put a lot of OS on machines and this one was a little different in that the look was more simple. I hate the partitioning that it came with. That was one of the first things i changed with the win7 partitioning program that is built in. There is an invisible 20 gb partion and a random 100 gb and another random 80 gb. Delete all and combine them. Run the windows update to get the Service pack 1. Download a real antivirus and you are set. Oh and btw to get your nvidia control panel, you need to download from the ASUS site NOT nvidia. Don't waste your time there.

Feel - the feel of the PC is good. The boot up time is incredibly long compared to my ACER laptop but that laptop is to of the line so maybe not used to desktop bootup. Occasionally there is a little atom processor stuttering but thats to be expected. ITs no big deal. Hulu and netflix work great at 1080p playback for some reason with youtube it stutters at 1080p so you have to view at 720.

Connection - I have mine connected to a SHARP 32 inch via HDMI (with sound pass through on) and have the display at 1200 x 720 (looks best this way because at 1600 setting everything is just way to small on the screen). Also have it connected to a LG external blu ray and 2 TB WD storage drive. I am using this for media purposes so i have the MYGICA U5072 connected in back with digital cable going in. I use arcsoft total media to view/record TV (windows media center does not pick up all the channels (picks up analog only)). I am sure there is a work around to use WMC but too lazy and i have been using arcsoft for awhile and am familiar with it. I also installed VLC (1.1.11 DO NOT PUT 2.2.22 on there, 2.2.22 is buggy and i tried it and was not happy with the playback)

the keyboard and mouse that came included from my newegg purchase is just okay. I am used to my asus and acer laptops that have chiclet keyboards and rarely do i use a regular keyboard. The keys just feel loose and like you need to press them down an inch to type. the mouse is nice and uses blue laser for tracking.

Packaging was good and with new egg 3 day free shipping and lack of state tax and rebate an awesome deal and a perfect little media machine. Hopefully the fan lasts, i ran a temp check and the unit runs at 37C which is more than perfect and with its energy star only 32watts being used (better than a 60 watt light bulb running at 100C)
