I was lucky enough to be a beta tester for these Phorus speakers. Aside from what everyone else already mentioned, there's a few things that I would like to say. When I first started testing these devices, there were many bugs - but the beauty of this system is that you can update the system over the air and with each app update the system only gets better. From initial testing to launch, the Phorus team have constantly launched updated applications resolving just about all the bugs that I'm aware of and even add new features... now it works beautifully. What this tells me is that we can expect the Phorus team to constantly update the application going forward, making it an even better music experience.

As of now you can only stream up to 4 speakers at the same time, though the application will definitely see all the speakers on your network (even if more than 4) and properly display them all for you to choose from. I believe as they improve their system the current 4 speaker limitation will be increased.

I've tried streaming 4 speakers at the same time and it works great... However, when doing so, I should mention that if you have parallel heavy network traffic activities from other devices/applications, the sound from some of the speakers may skip or become erratic. This problem can be avoided by going into your router's QoS (Quality of Service) or bandwidth control settings and giving your Play-Fi devices the highest priority possible.

Overall - my experience with Phorus speaker/receivers have been very positive and now that they launched I will be purchasing a few for personal use. I can say these make for throwing great parties. I threw a house party with these Play-fi devices - I had 1x PS1 speaker in my bathroom, 1x PR1 receiver hooked to my home theater in the living room, and 1 more PS1 speaker in my kitchen... I had them all blasting the same tunes so my guests had the same music everywhere they wondered... Many of them were very impressed and came asking me for details and expressing interest in these Playfi devices lol.

One last thing - Phorus have great technical support. During the beta testing phase, when I needed support, their support team was very curteous and knowledgeable... so don't hesitate to contact them if needed!
