I just received my replacment bulb and replaced it in my Sony KDF-42WE655. Taking out the old one and putting in the new one was fairly straight forward, but not as simple as some reviews I read. But just a few minutes after having the tv turned on it started smelling. It's been a few hours now, and is not dissipating yet. Nowhere in the information do they warn you about this odor, but when I googled it, it seems like this is fairly common. It is concerning since you don't know if the odor is toxic or how long it is going to last. or if it is overheating and going to damage the tv or start a fire. Also I did not receive a warranty card as is advertised for the lamp. There is no phone number to call for Mega Monster, and when I look it up in the yellow and white pages I can't find a business named Mega Monster in Chula Vista, CA, which is the address on the package.
