Warning, this card won't work with a UEFI motherboard. I found this out the hard way when I tried to install it in a new HP computer. I flashed the 2405 BIOS to the latest version on Adaptec's site before attempting a clean install of Windows 7. It installed - with difficulty - but would not reboot after the completed installation. This happened twice, the second time after disabling UEFI in the computer BIOS as suggested by Adaptec's web site. Very few of Adaptec's current RAID cards are actually UEFI compliant. Go to their web site and check before you buy one.
Contacted Adaptec about this problem and they never responded.
