This RAM is not for your average user (unless you are interested in owning top-quality products). This is a fantastic set memory solution for the power user. This isn't your typical BS DDR3 1333 or even the more premium 1600MgHz. This 2000 MGHZ, with a low 9-10-9-27 latency. This is to normal RAM what the i7 2600k is to the regular, 2600... While the regular i7 is a fantastic CPU, the unlocked version allows for enthusiasts (from gamers to designers to engineers to me... a hobbyist that realized I can build a better PC than I can buy and for a fraction of the cost... with a little help). My point is, if you're looking for a stick of ram for your Dell, move on. If this is your first build but you don't have a job, move on. But if you want to future proof your PC, and have the ability to push your system's performance through the art of overvclocking, then THIS is for you.

PRO: Extremely easy to overclock with my ASUS P8 Z68-V LX (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005EV1R34). At first, the included RAM bay fanset. This fan unit just clips on to the DDR3 channel clips (a 2 minute install from box to board, not at all like installing a water-cooler heatsink!). If you think this is a worthless item, you either don't understand the heat generated from components running at a high workload (nevermind overclocking). Cooling these components is what allows for your system to be that much faster and hit the bench marks printed in enthusiast magazines. That Coolingunit has two 60 mm tachometer-controlled fans. Yes, this can be interfaced with a fan control unit. My running temp throughout the case dropped by 7 degrees C. And although the combo includes only 2 sticks of ram, the cooler covers the whole quad-channel.

Oh yeah, and this is the fastest RAM I've ever played with. Gentle tweaks to the voltage and you will be impressed.

Cons: This is packaged as a set. It does match and I probably never would have considered a separate unit to cool my RAM array, but the price seems high when you assume you're paying for only 8 gigs of ram. I bought so many, I am considering selling the ram separately from the cooler. I think it'd be worth more separately.

NOTE: I am a system-builder and although I talk about the cutting edge stuff, I consider myself a novice-mid level resource. I have learned enough to make myself and friends and family all very tech-savvy (and very anti-Big Box Brands). To pay for my tech-addiction, I sell components, and this is one of them. But this disclosure is only academic and reviews from Amazon users alone are not enough to make decisive action upon. Luckily, there is a return policy. I, however, will not be returning mine nor will anyone else in my opinion.
