Bought this to take a chance just to see how it lives up to my expectations and also try to retire my Nook Color (which has been running Cyanogenmod 10 and still kicks). Charged it up for 10 hours and turned it on while holding it and looking around, I couldn't help but noticed it being such a nice piece of work because the metallic casing or shell is pretty solid, the edges feel good and go easy on my hand, the entire boot up experience went pretty smoothly and I felt confident in its performance already.

Immediately, I installed a system info app to verify the specs. Not surprisingly, the said specs are off, as with many other tablets from China. Instead of the claimed 1.6Ghz quad core CPU, sysinfo reported it being 1.2Ghz quad core. Installed SuperUser to see if its rooted, and was happy to find out that it came rooted indeed ! After installing SetCPU on it, I was able to boost the speed up to 1.3Ghz, now the speed is closer to the claimed 1.6, close but still no cigar.

Touchscreen is very responsive, almost as smooth as my modded Kindle Fire running N2A for Kindle with Android 4.2.2. Good. Then I went ahead and started installing more apps, TuneIn, ES File Explorer (yes, the root explorer function works flawlessly), 3D games like those from Gameloft. Sound output level is high, no extra equalizer or pre-amp app is needed, unless you are playing a movie with low sound outputs, therefore, TuneIn is a joy to use. Dungeon Hunter 3 and 4 all ran nicely and fast, absolutely no complains here. I haven't put Dead Trigger on it yet, but am expecting it to perform well.

Flash was pre-installed and works nicely even in the stock browser. Another good thing is there's no crap apps, the tablet came pretty clean and free of useless junks that you want to get rid of.

A couple of minor things that may annoy certain people. 1, the font was preset to HUGE in the system settings, but things still look just OK in terms of readability on interface elements, you can't go any larger unless another launcher like Go Launcher Ex is installed or something. 2, The OS is Android 4.1.1, it would be nice to have 4.2.2 at least since the later is actually much faster in performance. Then again, judging from the current state of the tablet now, I am really happy with it.

There are not that many negative things to say about it so far, that's why I gave it 5-star, from the price to performance ratio point of view, this thing is a steal ! It feels lighter and gives better screen resolutions than the iPad mini, even when its only 7 inch.

I will update this if I find anything else worth mentioning at a later time. Otherwise, this tablet is the one to get, and I don't mind getting more(if there's a need), at all.
