Bought this to take a chance just to see how it lives up to my expectations and also try to retire my Nook Color (which has been running Cyanogenmod 10 and still kicks). Charged it up for 10 hours and turned it on while holding it and looking around, I couldn't help but noticed it being such a nice piece of work because the metallic casing or shell is pretty solid, the edges feel good and go easy on my hand, the entire boot up experience went pretty smoothly and I felt confident in its performance already.

Immediately, I installed a system info app to verify the specs. Not surprisingly, the said specs are off, as with many other tablets from China. Instead of the claimed 1.6Ghz quad core CPU, sysinfo reported it being 1.2Ghz quad core. Installed SuperUser to see if its rooted, and was happy to find out that it came rooted indeed ! After installing SetCPU on it, I was able to boost the speed up to 1.3Ghz, now the speed is closer to the claimed 1.6, close but still no cigar.

Touchscreen is very responsive, almost as smooth as my modded Kindle Fire running N2A for Kindle with Android 4.2.2. Good. Then I went ahead and started installing more apps, TuneIn, ES File Explorer (yes, the root explorer function works flawlessly), 3D games like those from Gameloft. Sound output level is high, no extra equalizer or pre-amp app is needed, unless you are playing a movie with low sound outputs, therefore, TuneIn is a joy to use. Dungeon Hunter 3 and 4 all ran nicely and fast, absolutely no complains here. I haven't put Dead Trigger on it yet, but am expecting it to perform well.

Flash was pre-installed and works nicely even in the stock browser. Another good thing is there's no crap apps, the tablet came pretty clean and free of useless junks that you want to get rid of.

A couple of minor things that may annoy certain people. 1, the font was preset to HUGE in the system settings, but things still look just OK in terms of readability on interface elements, you can't go any larger unless another launcher like Go Launcher Ex is installed or something. 2, The OS is Android 4.1.1, it would be nice to have 4.2.2 at least since the later is actually much faster in performance. Then again, judging from the current state of the tablet now, I am really happy with it.

There are not that many negative things to say about it so far, that's why I gave it 5-star, from the price to performance ratio point of view, this thing is a steal ! It feels lighter and gives better screen resolutions than the iPad mini, even when its only 7 inch.

I will update this if I find anything else worth mentioning at a later time. Otherwise, this tablet is the one to get, and I don't mind getting more(if there's a need), at all.

This product was on sale at staples during black Friday for $450. The computer comes with windows 8 which isn't that bad. It also comes with a lot of useless bloatware (I love Lenovo). MiniPro 1TB External eSATA, USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive Review

I have been using this drive enclosure since early November with absolutely no problems. It is plugged into a Rosewill hub, and just sits in the background.

I chose this drive over other 2.5" portable Hard Drives because it can be powered by an external 2.0A power supply. When reading all the negative reviews of other drives, most of the low ratings can be traced to insufficient power coming from the computer USB ports. I surmise that many of the reviewers do not recognize this, and blame the drive (with just cause). A typical 2.5" HD requires 850ma to start up, and USB ports are current limited to 500ma. Notice that the drives that have a Y cable (to provide 1.0A to the drive) have the fewest negative ratings and the ones that don't (like Seagate) have the most. The particular drive in this unit is a Toshiba MK1059GSM, which, according to Toshiba requires 900ma to start, and 440ma to run. (Higher than typical)

I actually bought the separate external enclosure (Amazon ASIN: B003XEZ33Y) and a Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD10TPVT 1TB HD. (ASIN: B0034ZD5P0) ($108.75 from Oyen Digital directly)

Most 2.5" HD enclosures will not accept a 12.5mm thick HD. Everything below 1TB is 9mm thick. 1TB or greater drives are 12.5mm thick to allow room for two platters. These drive enclosures have worked better than any of the other myriad enclosures that I have tried.

This is a great price and size for a large C partition in a RAID5 type configuration. Inside HP DL380 and ML350 machines they are quiet and reliable. Out of over 200 purchased, I have had 0 defective or have been returned. As an IT company, the hard drives are important for our server configurations as the data and speed have to be reliable and fast. These drives are faster than the 2TB LFF drives we normally purchase for D partitions.

I guess the way the printer is set up is to ASSUME that you are using the color cartridges on an average basis, regardless of whether they are actually being used or not. Thus, it estimates when the cartridges should run out and when that time comes, you are locked out of further printing until the cartridges are replaced even though they may be full of toner. However, reading through the User Guide, there appears to be a solution on using the Color Toner Cartridges beyond the "replacement" time.

Page 94 of the User Guide has the following instructions for those who would like to use the toner beyond their replacement time:

Cartridge Out Override can only be enabled from the printer's control panel menu.

1. From the main menu, press (RIGHT ARROW) to System setup and press (SELECT).

2. Press (RIGHT ARROW) to Print quality and press (SELECT).

3. Press (RIGHT ARROW) to Replace supplies and press (SELECT).
