I received the laptop and it immediately caused me problems; it could not find a Wi-Fi connection. After spending hours with my local internet provider's help desk, they eventually referred me to HP, assuring me that the issue was not with my connection. I already knew that since I have three additional laptops working perfectly fine. In any event, when I called HP they told me that they "do not offer assistance with set up" and that they can send someone out to look at the laptop but starting fee is $100. Thank god amazon allowed me to return the laptop free of charge (I had bought it from them directly)

I am running it in my home server with 1240v3 and 32GB of ECC RAM. It handles 2 Windows 7 and Windows 8 in the same time with no problems (VMs are on SSD). I used on-board RAID5 (HDD-based) but due to poor write performance with long transactions, I had to switch to a dedicated RAID card.

The motherboard does support ATA passwords. A separate TPM module is required.

I thought this would be an awesome product. out of the box, it is severely lacking. there is no USB drive for transferring data directly from the computer to the unit. you have to do it all on another drive, already installed on your PC. this seems like a huge let down. I want technology to move forward not go backward. by not providing an Ethernet or USB port. it is basically a redundancy. you have to create a master disk with a master label each and every time you want to do your production. which will be both time and cost consuming. purchasing disks for the sake of transferring my data. takes us back to 1995. the reviews were misleading, i was under the impression that I would be able to communicate directly with the computer. I would not recommend this unit to others.

I was somewhat reluctant to purchase such an expensive item from a company I wasn't familiar with. As well as the fact that the specs were different than what is advertised on the Apple website. I researched the company and did not find any negative reports. The computer came exactly as stated and delivered in a very timely manner. The memory, speed, etc. was much better than what I would have received from the Apple Store or Website & the best part, it was cheaper!!! My daughter was very excited to get her new computer as she prepares for college. It's more than what she ever expected!
