I have the 27-inch version of the monitor at work, which made this the only choice when it came time to buy a new monitor for home. (The 27-inch is both too big and too pricey for my home use.) I am a photographer, graphic designer and web designer, and I've never seen a monitor that comes close to matching photo lab prints before the NEC. Sending out photos (and now doing them at home on a Canon Pixma Pro printer) is a real crap-shoot without an excellent monitor showing you what you need to see.

That said, there's no point in getting this monitor if you're not going to spring for the calibrator that goes with it. Sure it's added expense, but if you want or need this quality, you have to spend it. In my case I'm lucky that I can share the calibrator between home and work. If I couldn't do that, I would have had to up the price and go for the calibration unit. And DON'T GET A CHEAP CALIBRATOR that doesn't match the monitor. It's not just the unit itself, it's the software, which won't work with a different device and which is set specifically for the Multisync. It won't work with other monitors (though it should if you buy separate software for it).

If color is crucial to you, this is the monitor for you. If price and space are no object, get the 27". Just don't let anyone get close enough to drool on it.
