I purchased from two of these items from XBR Depot about 9 months ago. They advertised it then and still advertise it now with the Seagate model number of an internal 4TB drive that to this date has never been released to market. XBR Depot is buying the external Seagate 4TB drive and taking the drives out of the enclosures which then voids the warranty. Not only that, the external drives are selling now for around $160 but look at their price.

When I bought mine 9 months ago, the externals had been selling for around $160 but had sold out. XBR Depot charged me $450 per drive and I had to dispute with Amazon to get most of my money back. I had to contact Seagate to prove to Amazon that Seagate hadn't taken the advertised model number to market yet and Amazon made it seem like they'd take this product off the site. They never did - it's still been selling on Amazon for 9 months or more even though it's mis-advertised.

These drives are good drives, but XBR Depot's practices are misrepresentative and in my non-lawyer opinion illegal. I'm surprised that Amazon allows XBR Depot to sell on Amazon.com at all...
