I really was excited about this, however after about a week, I started having trouble. I have the DS1/HDMI connected to a 15 inch MacBook Pro Retina running OS X 10.8.2. Connected to the DS1 are:

External Speakers
External HDMI monitor
2TB USB 2.0 External Drive
Apple USB Keyboard

Things worked ok for a few days, but then the speakers started randomly popping, then along with the speaker pop, I would also get a message saying my external drive hadn't been properly ejected, and my keyboard would quit. The pops are about half a second apart (disconnecting and reconnecting?) My external drive was appearing and disappearing several times within a couple of minutes. (Along with the warning message about not being ejected properly). Occasionally my external monitor doesn't get a connection. I went to the Matrox website and found a user forum. Evidently this is a known issue. The response from Matrox is: "We are currently dealing with Apple to resolve some usb instabilities as well as wake from sleep issues. These should be resolved in a upcoming update from Apple." I may try again down the road if I see an Apple update that addresses this, and the user feedback changes, otherwise, it's too much money to spend for something that Matrox is hoping Apple will fix.
