Obviously we use batteries in our cars, motorcycles, lawnmowers, etc. Additionally I use inverters to draw power from 12V batteries for equipment while car camping and for an astronomy hobby. My motorcycles rarely get ridden anymore so the batteries sulfate quickly. I have a garage shelf that has 7 "dead" motorcycle, lawnmower, and car batteries lined up in a corner. They all failed in substantially less time than the advertised life of the battery, some from non-use (understandable), but some from normal use.
