This is my 4th graphics card that I've personally owned ever since stepping into the desktop world of computers and self-upgrading.

- My Alienware x51 came with a GT 545 card...mediocre performance.

- Soon after I did some research (at the time) to see what was viable as an upgrade for a slim-tower gaming desktop (with only a 330W power supply)... then came the GTX 560 ti...unfortunately that card, as wonderful as it may have been, consumed more power than I would have liked AND ran too hot in the small case.

- Moving onto to a quick upgrade, i purchased the AMD Sapphire 7850 OC card...that fit perfect into the case and i could enjoy most games on High graphics...this was before the 660 ti SC came out.

- FINALLY the 660 ti SC came out and i had to have it. it came with the borderlands 2 game code and that was a steal by itself. i essentially got the card for about 240 dollars. this card fits PERFECTLY into my x51 and runs soooo cool it hardly ever spins up. power consumption is beautiful as my 330W power supply handles it well. I could not be more happier with this card for the price and performance. im pleased that all my games can run maxed out on extreme detail at 1080p resolution.

i highly recommend this card to anyone who is looking for a card...especially if you own an alienware x51.

NewerTech Guardian MAXimus 2.0TB Quad Interface RAID-1 Mirrored Data Redundancy Kit Review

I bought this 2TB external hard drive about 18 months ago. It is sturdy, relatively quiet, and was easy to install right out of the box. It is easy to use and data transfer is fast. The most important point I want to make in this review is my experience over 18 months of use:
Testing the drive by daily backing up about 700 MByte of data over a period of 18 months resulted in no failure. The drives seem to still work just fine. None of the two mirrored drives has failed in any way. I am very satisfied with this purchase. Two caveats: (1) Past performance is no guarantee of future performance and the device could fail at any time, and (2) the fact that one customer had a good experience does not mean that the product is really good.
If the device will fail anytime in the future, I will try to update this review.

Note for anyone looking at this for their computer... this is fully buffered memory which means that it will most likely not work in your home computer unless you are using a server. By "not work", it means that the little notch in the memory sticks are intentionally located in a different location than regular DIMMs.

These worked perfectly in my Dell PowerEdge 2950 servers... had to add memory when I installed VMWare ESXi on them.

Lexar JumpDrive Triton 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive LJDNV64GCRBNA Review

Some of the first memory cards I ever bought were Lexar, going back a good 10 years or more, and they have always been quality products at competitive prices. They aren't the cheapest products, make no mistake, but memory is not a place where I choose to economize ... cheap memory can fail and the effects of that can be catastrophic.

The JumpDrive Triton 32 GB is one of Lexar's latest products, featuring the fast and relatively new USB 3.0 protocol. I've been using the JumpDrive for a few weeks now, with no problems or issues, and ran a few tests between this drive and a Lexar USB 2.0 JumpDrive.

Here are the results (using 32-bit Windows Vista Ultimate on a desktop PC, copying files from hard drive to USB drive):

Copying single 130 MB file:
USB 3.0 Drive in USB 3.0 port: Avg. 4.32 seconds
USB 2.0 Drive in USB 2.0 port: Avg. 19.50 seconds
USB 3.0 Drive in USB 2.0 port: Avg. 6.65 sec
The Triton USB 3.0 performance was 4.5x faster in a USB 3.0 port, and even 2.9x faster in a USB 2.0 port
The USB 2.0 Drive in a USB 3.0 port was actually SLOWER than in a USB 2.0 port, averaging 20.64 seconds

Results for other operations:

Copying 10 files, 250 MB total:
USB 2.0 Drive: Avg. 50.71 seconds
USB 3.0 Drive: Avg. 8.35 seconds
Copy from Hard drive to same hard drive: Avg. 8.40 seconds
The Triton USB 3.0 was 6x faster than the USB 2.0 drive, and slightly faster than copying to the hard drive

Copying a single 650 MB file was 7.0x faster with the USB 3.0 drive than the USB 2.0 drive.

Copying 3,149 files (~602 MB total) was 4.0x faster with USB 3.0 drive than the USB 2.0 drive

Obviously copying vast numbers of files involves some overhead operations that even out the playing field somewhat, but that was the slowest operation in my testing, and even then the Triton drive was 4 times faster than a USB 2.0 drive.

So, for the bullet list of PROS and CONS:

PROS:

Fast performance. The results are above, but the Triton USB 3.0 drive performed anywhere from 4-7 times faster than USB 2.0. It was even faster when used in a USB 2.0 port (nearly 3x faster in my test). Copy operations for fewer / larger files yield more dramatic speed increases over more / smaller files.

Solid build. The Triton drive is glossy black plastic on the top, and the entire base is metal. Not metal paint, metal. This thing ought to last for years. The slide tab is stiff enough now, while new, to resist being pushed in when the drive is inserted in the port.

Limited lifetime warranty: I like a company that stands behind its products.

Pretty slick looking. I like the brushed metal body, and the contrasting black top.

CONS:
Tiny lanyard provided. I couldn't figure out what possible use I could have for such a tiny lanyard.

A bit wide. The body is pretty wide, enough so that I could not plug it in to a HP Envy 14 Spectre with another drive already in the USB 2.0 port. The port configuration may be a little narrow on the laptop, but the drive is still a bit wide compared with a few others I had handy (~ 4 mm wider).

I'm not a huge fan of the slide-out USB design. Eventually, after months and months of use, they usually exhibit wear in the mechanism, and the plug wants to retract as you insert the drive. This hasn't happened with this drive yet, but I prefer a cap anyway. Retractable actions never prevent dirt, dust, and pocket crud from getting into the plug anyway.

Bottom Line: This Triton USB 3.0 drive is fast, good looking, and solidly built. Lexar offers a lifetime warranty on the drive. On the meh side, the lanyard they provide is tiny, the body of the drive is a bit overly wide, and the slide-out mechanism may get loose over time. The speed outweighs most anything else for me, so I'd rate this one a Recommend.

Dell Latitude E6420 14" Notebook - Core i5 i5-2520M 2.50 GHz Review

Pretty great laptop. Had no issue whatsoever with the screen like another reviewer said, worked great since day 1 for half a year now. Also installed linux ubuntu 11.10 on it, works like a charm - the multitouch on the touchpad in ubuntu also runs great (there's a debian package for that). It's strong, powerful, and despite its tank-like build it's not as heavy as you'd expect. A friend has an older model of the series and 5 years later and a cup of coffee on the keyboard and it still works great.
