I was using a pair of Audioengine A2 before I had these for my computer listening. I do recommend the Audioengines ($199), they are now hooked up to my laptop. However, these are just astounding for $100 bucks more. I do have them paired with a sub woofer, which I also recommend doing. They have a subwoofer out RCA which is really awesome.

The soundstage and clarity on these are phenomenal, very neutral. The build quality is absolutely top notch.

Only gripe but minimal, is volume control on the back. This can be remedied with a keyboard with volume control or this little trinket is awesome... Volume Controller Fostex Pc-1e (W) White

Cotytech Apple Monitor Desk Mount Quick Release with Clamp Base (DM-CA20-C) Review

And in a good way! I bought this to replace a visidec mounting arm that got too loose to keep my monitor in place. I didn't expect to get anything that is much different. I was wrong. These are very easy to assemble and put in place. Further, if you ever need to remove the monitor long enough to reposition the arm, no problem at all. You won't even need a screwdriver. The VESA mount attachment, in fact all of the arms, use drop on to clip method. Basically it's a short pole sticking up from the top of the arm/pole mount, the next arm or mount sets over/around and the re is a spring load 'clip' that keeps it from lifting off. Each attachment has adjustable friction screws, so you can adjust how easy or hard it is to rotate at each joint. The VESA attachment uses the same method, so if you ever need to reposition the pole or whatever, you just push the clip back while lifting the monitor. Easy as eating pie. A simple hex key (included) is all that is needed to adjust the friction/tension at each joint. I was a little put off while assembling the arm, because there were no hex keys. I opened the box with pole and clamp, put it in place (I already had the necessary tools, so was no big deal for me,) opened each extension arm and put those in place, then I opened the box with the VESA mount and there were the HEX keys. LOL. I laughed at myself for not opening everything first. The packaging is a little strange, but certainly not a problem. Each piece comes in it's own box instead of everything in one box. It actually made things a little easier as I didn't have to dump it all out at once. Highly recommended. So far, the best arm I have ever used. I just purchased the dual arm version for my other 2 monitors.

I have 3 of these in my office. Pic Shows 2 extra trays but they are not included. Wish they would fix that because a tray is around $300. Heavy Cad/Engineering Depts. printing thousands of pages per week. No complaints. Prints come out fast and look great. 11x17 printing makes this a must have in this office. Toner is pricey but its good for 20000 plus sheets. That a penny a page. No aftermarket toners that I have found. Maintenance kit is easy to find and install. Very few Jams or complaints makes me a happy IT guy

Briggs & Riley Verb Fuse 20 Inch Carry-On Computer Upright,Black,20x14x7.3 Inch Review

I really like this bag for the versatility. I have found it to work fantastically well for trips up to 5 days. When there is a need to pack multiple business suits, I tend to opt for a larger bag. But, my usual 1 sports coat with some jeans business trips of late have given this bag a ton of use. It is excellent for packing clothes, cords, business cards, notepads, iPod(s), iPad(s), and up to a 15" laptop. Thankfully I haven't needed to pack a projector as that might be a little much. But without the projector, this bag is incredible as the only bag carried on short trips.

I have two issues with the bag that stopped me from giving it a 5 star rating.

1. The wheels easily get caught in sidewalk cracks and floor imperfections. On a perfectly flat surface, the wheels spin quickly and don't put any drag on your arms (imagine the annoyance of a "slow" bag when running to catch a plane). But when it gets caught.... see point 2....
2. The extending handle is starting to show significant signs of wear due to the number of times I've had to jerk the case to stop it from getting caught in a sidewalk crack or some other imperfection in the flooring it is rolling on

I have a feeling I will need to contact Briggs & Riley about a replacement arm in the future. I can see where it is going to break off after a few more trips. If B&R is reading this, I would suggest looking at the wheel system Thule employs - those wheels can roll over anything.

Mba 1,1 rev a early oct zif pata drive

Came with a external USB drive and that zif is tricky. Plugged it in and installed lion via external USB no prob and pretty fast, 30 min. Swapped out the he internal samsung spindle hd with the ssd and was done. Then decided to clone a bootcamped partition, had 38 gigs available.

Drives way faster than spindle, right on specs listed 90mb write 80 read.
Spindle was 18/15
Cons: feels way small with 2 os's

Sony SAL70400G 70-400mm f/4-5.6 G SSM Lens Review

I have owned this lens for nearly a year and use it mainly for shooting landscapes, wildlife and birding. I love the 70-400mm range. I use with both an A300 and A700 camera. There is a definite performance difference between the two camera bodies. The lens is much more responsive on the A700 for moving subjects (try panning a bird going by at 30 mph with quick changes in vertical pitch). Focus is not an issue if I obtain focus on the subject zoomed out and then move in. You cannot get quick focus on a different moving subject when zoomed in. The picture quality is very good with sharpness, color and boken. I believe that most of my missed shots with the lens are my fault. The photographer's skills in using equipment is far more important than specific features of the equipment anyway.

I use a monopod but have good results shooting from the hip so to speak by holding the lens body with only my hands. I was in Yellowstone National Park recently and a person walked up to me and asked me how I could use the lens without a tripod and the answer is because it is attached to a Sony body. The Sony Super Steady image stabilization system works great.

Since I use the lens outside so much, including the winter months, I do not like the silver finish because it is not durable. I would rather have a durable black finish than could take a few bumps without incidents and so wildlife cannot spot me easily. I am very unhappy that the lens does not have a lens lock. I use a holster type bag that I modified myself so the I can protect the lens between shots while keeping the lens hood attached. As I lift the camera out of the bag vertically is a pain since the lens will extend due to gravity.

Overall, I have taken some wonderful pictures with this lens and will use it as long as I have a desire to capture moments among God's beautiful creations.

Update: I have used this lens for another year and remain very pleased. I use a Sony a55 with a Zeiss 16-80mm and this lens with a Sony a700. With this combination I am completely covered for any focal distance. The color, contrast and sharpness is great. I do not mind carrying all of this around because the IQ is worth it. This lens makes either of these camera bodies shine when a long focal length is required. The 70-400mm G autofocus works fine with the Sony a55. Sony image stabilization rocks. I can go to 1/10 sec handheld (when needed) and still get sharp pictures. I only use a tripod for night pictures.
